The Taiga endures extreme temperature variations. For example it may be warm in the afternoon, then by nightfall the temperature drops dramatically. The summer season is usually short (1-3 months at most). During the growing season when vegetation comes back, it is usually slightly longer because the biome has less nutrients in the soil so the plants of the boreal biome have a lower threshold to trigger growth. During the winter season the Taiga endures heavy snowfall. This could be heavy falls of snow at one time or small falls more frequently.
